The chapter issued a public clarification after receiving claims that Engr. Taiwo Amao, also known as Lion Taiwo, was still acting as chairman.

According to the notice, Engr. Taiwo Amao ceased to be chairman in April 2025 and no longer has authority to represent, transact, or act on behalf of the association.

The statement identifies Barrister Kazeem Babatunde Safiu as the legitimate and recognized Chairman of the Nigeria Association of the Blind, Lagos Chapter.

It further directs partners, stakeholders, and members of the public to route official dealings through the chairman and the NAB Lagos State Secretariat.

The public, partners, and stakeholders are urged to take note of the clarification and avoid engaging with unauthorized persons on matters concerning the association.
